PlasmaCoat Equipment Patents purchased from Edwards Vacuum Ltd

Applied Multilayers purchased the patents and exclusive rights to manufacture the ophthalmic coating system and technology of the PlasmaCoat Express™ as well as associated ancillary ophthalmic lens processing equipment. Included in the purchase were twelve US and UK patents, trademarks, proprietary manufacturing drawings and intellectual property. AML now adds this small, load locked coating system to its product line. This third generation system is now offered for ophthalmic, precision optical and small scale metallization coating utilizing its patented Closed Field Magnetron coating technology. Commercially available sub-oxide target materials may be readily utilized as well for non-reactive optical coatings.
