System Control Technologies has acquired Applied Multilayers Ltd on 28 June 2010. System Control Technologies (SCT) is a United States based company which designs and manufactures thin film coating systems for over twenty years. SCT´s portfolio has included custom web coaters, in line system, optical box coaters as well as state of the art replications of popular name brand coating systems of the past. The purchased acquisition is now registered under the new name of Applied Multilayers LLC (AML).
Dr Des Gibson, co-founder of the former Applied Multilayers Ltd and inventor of associated patented sputter technology and processes, will provide ongoing technical and marketing consultancy for the newly purchased venture. In addition, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) systems and processes separately developed by Dr Gibson will be incorporated into AML’s product portfolio. Dr Gibson will provide ongoing support regarding AML`s usage of the PECVD technology.
